Bridging educational collaboration between two nations

UTS welcomes experts from the Ministry of Education, Singapore
With its advanced education system and modern teaching methods, Singapore consistently ranks among the top countries in global education quality. The visit by experts from the Ministry of Education, Singapore, offered UTS a chance to share its training experiences and achievements while gaining insights into modern trends, particularly in the application of technology in teaching and education management (EdTech).
This exchange not only helps UTS enhance the quality of learning but also builds a strong foundation for fostering global citizens who are prepared to adapt and thrive in the digital age.
Sharing on the topic: “EdTech – The modern education trend”

Experts discuss the application of technology in education
The integration of technology into education in Singapore is systematically implemented by the Ministry of Education, widely applied across the teaching system with tools and technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), software assisting teachers in examinations, assessments, and guiding students in their assignments.
Notably, the technologies applied in Singapore’s education system maintain a high level of consistency, ensuring uniformity across the curriculum. This contrasts with the Vietnamese education system, where schools often implement methods independently, leading to discrepancies in training quality.
Although technological applications bring many benefits, modern education also faces challenges. According to experts, in Singapore, over 78% of students fear failure, and 72% are afraid of being judged when they are unsuccessful, highlighting how performance pressure remains a major barrier in their learning journey.
To address this, experts proposed improvements in teaching methods, incorporating technology into lessons, and developing learning projects to promote the goal of creating “joy in learning”. This approach helps reduce stress and encourages student creativity.

UTS International Program Management team shares practical experiences
At the end of the visit, the UTS International Program Management Team shared insights on the topic of “Innovation in Education,” offering a practical perspective from more than seven years of implementing bilingual international programs in Vietnam. This exchange also allowed the Singaporean experts to gain further insights into EdTech applications both inside and outside the classroom, contributing to enhancing the overall learning experience and effectiveness.
Impressed by UTS’s steady progress in education
Outstanding student capabilities

UTS-ers take the lead in guiding experts around the school
During the visit, the delegation from the Ministry of Education, Singapore, was particularly impressed when UTS students themselves led the school tour, showcasing their fluent English communication skills.
What stood out was not only their language proficiency but also their ability to present information clearly, ask insightful questions, and engage proactively. This is a testament to UTS’s teaching approach, which fosters both academic excellence and essential communication and integration skills.
UTS’s modern facilities

State-of-the-art and internationally standardized facilities at UTS
UTS’s modern infrastructure immediately caught the attention of the visiting experts, with well-designed learning spaces that meet international standards. Classrooms are equipped with smart interactive boards, projectors, advanced computers, and cutting-edge teaching software.
These investments are not just about enhancing infrastructure but are also part of UTS’s long-term educational strategy. The integration of technology into every lesson helps students visualize abstract concepts, develop logical thinking, and improve self-learning abilities.
An international learning environment

Experts observe lessons from the Oxford International Curriculum (OIC)
During a Grade 6 Mathematics lesson under the Oxford International Curriculum (OIC), the visiting experts were highly impressed by UTS’s approach to classroom organization. Instead of passive teaching methods, UTS lessons always encourage students to ask questions, share opinions, and participate in group discussions.
Conclusion
This visit marks an important milestone in UTS’s development journey, not only opening opportunities to learn from an advanced education system but also reaffirming its commitment to continuous innovation. By exchanging perspectives and experiences, the academic teams from both countries can refine their teaching and learning strategies for greater effectiveness. With a vision of fostering a modern and globally integrated learning environment, UTS will continue equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to confidently embrace the future.
